Project Group "Willy-Brandt Square" An Example of European History in Ulm Coordinator: Dr. Eva Saalfrank, ZAWiW, University of Ulm This project group was formed from the working group called "European Contacts". The aim of the group was to investigate and publish life, history and the transformations of the Willy-Brandt-Platz (square) in Ulm. Behind the sober facade of this important traffic junction is buried a richly-facetted path from the earlier industrialisation through the Third Reich until modern times. An exhibition on this topic was presented by the group during ZAWiW´s Academic Week at the University of Ulm in Autumn 1996. The group has also published an illustrated brochure on the subject. The research results have been exhibited again in the Autumn of 1999.
