Background and Aims

The Working Group "European Contacts"

The "learning through research" group "European Contacts" was founded in 1996 within the framework of one of the season's academies which are organised regularly by ZAWiW (Centrum for General Scientific Continuing Education) at the University of Ulm. The participants of a seminar of the same name have decided that they would like their work to go on beyond the academy week.

The goal of the working group is to communicate and to organize meetings with seniors from various European countries interested in continuing education. In these international meetings an opportunity should be given for an exchange of experiences concerning educational programmes as well as social situation of seniors within their various cultural backgrounds. This exchange should continue beyond the meetings.

At present there are 19 participants who engage in the activities of the working group on voluntary basis. 15 are women and 4 men.
