Arrival/Housing Questions

When do I have to be in Ulm?

The lecture period begins in the middle of October, but we suggest to be in Ulm about two weeks earlier to organize housing, health insurance, registration, etc. If possible, you should arrive at Ulm between October 1 and October 5 between 9 am and 4 pm so that we can organize to meet you at the station.

How can I get to Ulm?

Ulm is in Southern Germany between Munich and Stuttgart. The closest international airports are located in these cities. There is also a regional airport in Augsburg for destinations within Germany.

With the train Deutschen Bahn it is then possible to travel directly to Ulm from any of these three cities.

What kind of housing is available?

Students admitted to the course can get a room in a Student dormitory if they wish - a dormitory application form will be sent out with the admission letter.

There are four dormitories downtown (20 min. bus drive to the campus) and one near the campus (walking distance).

All rooms are single occupancy rooms and fully furnished. You share a kitchen equipped with all cooking facilities and bathrooms with a couple of other students; according to the type of dorm this can be between 2 to 10 persons.

There are no dormitories exclusively for men or women.

Prices range from 200 EUR to 350 EUR per month.

See resident housing for more information.
