Title: Systematic studies of human models of leukemia: establishing a pipeline for novel targeted therapeutics
Host: Dr. Arefeh Rouhi
The ability to sequence the whole genome of patients or conduct high-resolution genome-wide binding studies has tremendous potential to provide novel insight into the mechanisms of diseases. Brian Wilhelm and his team study mutations present in leukemia in order to understand how the disease originates and evolves. High-throughput technologies are used to understand the basic mechanisms of transcriptional regulation, using fission yeast as a model system.
