Documentation of activities
Elderly and experienced adults – SeniorConsultants – support international students during their stay in Germany while they study at Ulm University. This is the basic idea of ASSIST.
An the rage of activities offered is as far as the range of life experience of our SeniorConsultants.
- Excursion to Neuschwanstein 22/10/2011
In excursions to place of interest in the nearer or further neighbourhoud students not only get to know the touristical highlights but talks with accompagnying seniors they may learn what geographical, cultural and economical background shaped the landscape, they are visiting.

Visiting folkloristic and cultural activities enable access and appreciation and in any case means great fun.
- Excursion to Bosch-Rexrot 25/02/10
Some senior consultants may use the contacts from their former professional life to organize excursions to renown compagnies in the neighbourhoud.
- Stammtisch at Ratskeller
A monthly "Stammtisch" - round table meeting is a chance for spontanuous exchange about actual subjects.

Feasting together not only encourages the contact but also improoves the knowledge about the underlying tradition.
All foreign students, who inscribed to a mailing list, are regularily informed by mail about the actually offered activities. Also the activities are announced at our homepage.
Besides the afore mentioned activities for a larger group of participants, there are a lot of activities which aim at the interest and needs of individual students.
- Training in German language, gives a chance exercise individually speaking and listening in addition to the language course at university.
- Accompagnying to administrative authorities in many cases helps to correct misunderstandings and to open doors.
- Cooking together at home is a chance to practice mutual and pleasurable international competence.
- Excursion together with the family create personal contacts.
- Good advice for shopping e.g. buying a used bike or how to use public transport may be a good help.
