The Information Desk in the central library provides a range of information and reference services, such as:

• General information about library services, resources, and facilities
• Reference assistance and instruction
• Information about interlibrary loan and document delivery services
• Library catalog instruction

Please feel free to stop by the Information Desk or contact us by phone, fax, e-mail, or Skype.

If we cannot answer a question immediately, we will get back to you within 24 hours (except on Sundays or holidays).

We offer a free comprehensive database search for doctoral dissertations from universities in Germany: Doctoral Dissertation Retrieval Service (PDF). Additionally, if desired, we will extend the search to include habilitation theses, books, and grey literature.

If you wish to search for journal articles on a particular subject, kiz offers a variety of databases available through the University network. We are more than happy to give you tips and advice concerning databases and other reference resources. Our expert staff can also carry out a literature search for you; the Library offers a customized (and, in most cases, fee-based) Information Retrieval Service. As one of two kiz registration centers for DFN Global Certificates, you can come to the Information Desk for registration (individual identification) on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or arrange an appointment via e-mail.
