Processor
CUSS Compute-Server
In the context of a cooperation with University of Stuttgart (project CUSS - Common Ulm Stuttgart Server) the kiz operates a Compute-Server which provides a high processing power and a huge working storage for special applications.
bwGRiD Cluster Ulm
The bwGRiD Cluster Ulm ist part of the Baden-Württemberg grid (bwGRiD)which provides the Compute Services with more than 10.000 Cores at 7 state universities.
Unix-Server
The kiz provides a number of server for an interactive login which partly run under Solaris and partly under Linux. Various standard programs (e.g. StarOffice and Mozilla) run on the processors but special applications can also be used.
Computer and Course Labs
The kiz provides 10 computer labs (Windows and Linux) and 2 course labs including more than 200 computers.
Reading Room Computers
Open access computers for research in the library catalogues, CD-ROMs, online databases and the internet as well as sending orders. The computers are located in the reading rooms of the central library and departmental libraries.
