Databases
In many cases, access to databases is not for free but rather purchased through license agreements. For more information, see our page on
licenses and access. Here you will learn more about access requirements for the Library's licensed resources, i.e. details about kiz user accounts and how to connect to the campus network from on or off campus.
Database Information System: DBIS
The Datenbank-Infosystem (
DBIS, Database Information System) is a cooperative effort that provides a variety of databases for research and other information needs. Via this interface you have access to kiz's licensed databases. DBIS provides not only
ReDI databases but also currently over 3,000 free access resources.
New Database: Web of Science
Kiz has recently purchased a subscription to the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI), which covers 1945 - present and complements the existing Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) with titles from the years 1956 - present. Access to these sections is via
DBIS.
