For many years, research institutions, scientists, and libraries have demanded that publishers' pricing strategies be challenged and recommend open, public access to publicly funded research results. This position is underlined in the so-called Berlin Declaration.

Service Points kiz

Open Access Funds

Based upon a proposal by kiz, the Präsidium der Universität Ulm (Executive Committee) has set aside funds (initially 30,000€) to defray open access publication expenses. Read more about the funds in our circular letter (in German) Rundschreiben.
