Doctoral candidates are required to publish their dissertation. Furthermore, doctoral dissertations are subject to mandatory deposit with the Library. For further information, please refer to your faculty's doctoral studies regulations.

Deposit and Publication
When you are ready to deposit your dissertation, there are several options you may choose from:

If you choose to publish your dissertation electronically, please submit your work to the University's institutional repository (
Ulmer Volltextserver VTS).
Complete the following electronic submission form to have your dissertation copied and bound by kiz:

Free printing of medical dissertations
Medical dissertations are eligible for subsidized printing, provided the student completes the dissertation during his/studies and the order is placed through kiz. This service is financed through tuition fees.
