Network Printing

The kiz provides a variety of output equipment for printing. Print outs can be made from your computer or notebook via fixed-line network, wireless lan or VPN as well as from the computer labs and kiz Unix systems:

  • Laser printer, black/white
  • Colour laser printer
  • Large-format inkjet printer, simple quality printing
  • Large-format inkjet printer, photo quality printing

For all printers there is a postscript printer driver (PPD) file as well as one or more queues on our print server whose exact identification has to be given when Öffnet einen internen Link im aktuellen Fensterinstalling a particular printer on your computer or notebook.

The printer are already installed on the Unix systems and in the computer labs. The locations of the printer can be checked in the Öffnet einen internen Link im aktuellen Fensteroverview of the Queues.

If you would like to use the output devices in the computer labs you need a chipcard to gain access.

You can send print jobs to a queue at any time. The queues for the output devices at the Service Point East are processed working days between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. An exception are the large-format inkjet printer which are running all the time as well as the printer in the computer labs. All print jobs which are sent after 5:30 p.m. and before 8 a.m. remain in the queue until services hours start again. If printer problems occur you will receive an automatically generated e-mail with notes on the problem.

The current Öffnet einen internen Link im aktuellen Fensterstatus of the queues can be checked online. Due to that you are able to receive information about the current number of print jobs and the current addressability of the queues.
