Which graphics formats are supported?

At the moment only postscript is supported.

How important is the size of the document?

Not very important. A document with more than 30 MB probably contains information which doesn't fit on a A0 print out of a inkjet printer. The same applies for an A4 page on a colour laser printer.

Is it possible to have a preview?

Yes, e. g. with Ghostview.

How can graphics formats be converted?

There are various possibilities for PC users. We would like to refer all UNIX users to the programm "convert" which is available on all computers.

Where do too large pixels come from?

Probably a too low resolution was used during the scanning process. Another possibility could be that one of the processing programms has implemented contour sharpening or something similar and due to this side effects appeared. If you used "binuscan Photo Perfect Master"please try again using "Magic Scan" since the binuscan programm sometimes causes the already mentioned side effects.

How large can be print outs?

At the roll printers the maximal printable width is limited to 884 mm. The paper rolls are 30 m long and theoretical are usable for one single print out.

How long do print jobs take?

The printing time for A0 orders of the highest quality level is around 20 to 40 minutes. Draft prints in a reduced quality take little more than 10 minutes.

The day before departing to a conference is usually an inappropriate time to print since many other colleagues have the same idea and with at least as many mistakes in the posters which have to be corrected.

Diese Einstellung bestimmt, wie die von Ihnen gewünschten Farben in die von den Ausgabegeräten darstellbaren Farben umgesetzt werden.

Auf welche Einstellungen muss in den Druckermenüs besonders geachtet werden?

Je mehr Farbeinstellungsmöglichkeiten Ihr Anwendungsprogramm aufweist, desto größer ist auch die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass die Standardeinstellung nicht die gewünschten Ergebnisse produziert. Achten Sie bitte darauf, dass Sie das Farbmodell RGB wählen und alle Druckerprofile abschalten. Dies ist besonders bei CorelDraw wichtig, da dort die Standardeinstellung ein außerordentlich unbefriedigendes Ergebnis zur Folge hat (flaue, viel zu helle Wiedergabe von Bildern).

Which problems can occur with fonts?

At the moment there are problems with ARial bold and possibly with an Adobe printer driver.
