The team looks after server of different architectures and manufacturers which provide a wide range of application software for the users.
Among numerous other systems a high performance compute server from SUN is available which is combinetly used by the universities of Stuttgart and Ulm. As a result there excists a close cooperation with the company Sun which especially becomes noticable in the SUN Center of Excellence (CoE) for Computational Chemistry which is located at the kiz. A main work field of the team is to support scientific calulations at the university.
The team runs three Linux and five Windows pools for students. These can only be used on request but are generally available to students of all faculties.
The kiz shop is part of the team. EDP supplies are available from the shop.
