Master Courses Psychology

In the Psychology master programme, usually the language of instruction is German. Occasionally, a few courses are taught in English. Nevertheless,  basics in English are important. For instance most of the literature is English. 

Even in courses that are taught in German, incoming students usually have the possibility to write at least the seminar paper in English.

Courses on Varying Topics

Each semester, we offer additional courses in different modules covering a wide range of topics. Normally, each of these modules contains several courses with varying topics. The actual titles and topics for the courses will be decided only shortly before the start of any given semester. Most courses are seminars, but there are also some lectures or other types of courses. Depending on type of the course, grading is based on an exam, the investigation and scientific presentation of an assigned topic, a seminar paper or something similar. Usually, the language of instruction is German, but occasionally it can be English.

Additional Information

In winter semester 18/19, exam regulations will change and the programme will be restructured. As a result, some of the courses will change as well (contents, ECTS, regular cycle). In order to attend master courses, you must have master level, meaning that:

  • you must have formally completed a bachelor degree or
  • you must have finished three years of studying at a university or
  • you have completed 180 ECTS credit points

by the time you start your studies at Ulm University.
