Institute of Energy Conversion and Storage

The institute of energy conversion and storage is part of the faculty engineering of the University, and has its focus on power electronics and electrical engineering as well as on the automotive engineering sector. One general headline of the institute is “Energy Management in Stand-Alone Systems” in the field of hybrid vehicle drives. A modular test bed on a 1:1 scale and also a simulation platform for the examination of different drive concepts are available for this purpose. In different studies and cooperation projects hybrid structures are examined regarding efficiency and further characteristics. In cooperation with partners from industry components are tested, systems constructed and battery strategies optimized.
