How to reach us

Arrival by Airplain
The closest airports are located at Stuttgart and Munich. There are regional airports at Augsburg and Friedrichshafen with targets inside Europe. From all of these four cities it is possible to reach Ulm by train.


Arrival by Public Transport
Ulm is located at the ICE railroad Munich-Stuttgart. From the main station there are buses going to the university every 10 minutes:

  • Route 3 (Wissenschaftsstadt): Main station (Hauptbahnhof) - South Entrance of the University (Universität Süd) (best connection to our institute) .
  • Route 5 (Universität Süd): Main station (Hauptbahnhof) - South Entrance of the University (Universität Süd).
  • Route 6 (Eselsberg): Main station (Hauptbahnhof) - South Entrance of the University (Universität Süd), irregular only.

 

After having left the bus you can already see our building O 27 (ground floor kind of pink, blue window frames). Please take the entrance at the road the bus takes. The Neural Information Processing Unit is situated at the 4th floor (yellow colour),  the secretary's room is no. 439.

 

Arrival by Car
From motorway A8: Leave the A8 via exit Ulm West. From there you continue on the B10 in direction of Ulm. Go on until you arrive at the exit Wissenschaftsstadt. Follow the road ("Nordtangente") until you can turn left to the university (Albert-Einstein-Allee). If you go left at the first crossing (James-Franck-Ring) and left again at the next possibility (Helmholtzstraße), you will find a parking house and a large parking area on the left side.

 

The Department of Computer Science is situated at the east end of the university at the Oberer Eselsberg. You will find us in building O 27. After leaving the parking place, you have to walk through the forest (after crossing the road please keep right and after some meters left). After having left the forest, go right and cross the street. Please enter building O 28 (green colour) over the outdoor stairs right infront of you. You have to pass through a long corridor until you reach the first stairs leading upstairs (you will also find an elevator there). The Institute of Neural Information Processing is situated at the 4th floor (yellow colour), two stairs up, the secretary's room is no. 439.
