Since 1990, the Institute of Databases and Information Systems (DBIS) has been doing research in the area of process-aware and data-centric Information Systems as well as of current database management systems and technologies (Process and Data Science).
In this context, the research group of Prof. Dr. Manfred Reichert (director) especially focuses on all aspects of flexibility of process-aware information systems along their lifecyle (design, configuration, enactment, and analysis/optimization). Complementing this, Prof. Dr. Martin Theobald and his research group address distributed database architectures as well as the scalable analysis of big data.
