Marcel Walch, M.Sc.

Marcel Walch studied Media Informatics at Ulm University and received his master’s degree in 2015. Since April 2015 he has been working as a research associate and PhD candidate in the Institute of Media Informatics at Ulm University. As part of an interdisciplinary scholarly project on future autonomous vehicles, his research focuses on human-vehicle interaction and cooperation in the domain of highly automated driving. In particular, the main topic of his work investigates cooperation and interaction between highly automated vehicles and drivers. As such, he investigates cooperative driver-vehicle interaction as part of the joint project KoFFI (Cooperative Driver-Vehicle Interaction).

    Research Area: HCI in Automated Driving

    Current self-driving vehicles are able to drive autonomously as long as certain necessary conditions are met. How can highly automated vehicles and drivers overcome these limitations in a cooperative way? Theses in this area are supposed to investigate how car-driver interaction and the according user interfaces should be designed.
