International Exchange Students
Students from partner universities who have been nominated by their home university as exchange student, are eligible to study at the University of Ulm for a period of up to two semesters and enjoy a number of privileges such as:
- exemption from paying tuition fees
- intensive German language course / orientation program before beginning of lecture period (tuition free)
- welcome service by S.T.E.P.S. Tutors (Student Tutors for Exchange Program Students)
- excursions and other student activities
Monthly living costs: € 700,- / month minimum.
University of Ulm holds exchange agreements with numerous universities on all continents. Student exchanges with partner institutions are usually carried out in the following frameworks:
European Union - Life Long Learning Program LLP / ERASMUS
ERASMUS is the abbreviation for European Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students. It is a program sponsored by the European Commission and part of the Lifelong Learning Program (LLP).
In order to participate in the ERASMUS program, sending and receiving universities must have successfully applied for an ERASMUS University Charter (EUC). University of Ulm has been awarded such an ERASMUS University Charter for the years 2007 - 13.
Students wishing to study at Ulm University under the ERASMUS program must check first if there is a valid
exchange agreement between their home university and the University of Ulm. Please note that exchanges in the ERASMUS program are subject specific.
Students must first apply to their home universities for a place in the ERASMUS contingent. If this application is succesful, nominated candidates must complete the
application documents for University of Ulm.
In addition, students can apply to their home university for an ERASMUS grant.
Bilateral and Baden-Württemberg Exchanges Outside the European Union ERASMUS Program
Exchange students coming from partner universities
outside the European Union must first apply to their home universities for a place in the bilateral or Baden-Württemberg exchange contingent. If this application is succesful, nominated candidates must complete the
application documents for University of Ulm. These students are also eligible for the so called
"Baden-Württemberg-SCHOLARSHIP"
