ERASMUS as Part of the Lifelong Learning Program (LLP)
The university program ERASMUS epitomizes one of the great success stories of the European Union facilitating and advancing transnational academic mobility since 1987. So far, over 1.5 million students and more than 100.000 university teachers have participated in a study abroad / teaching abroad through ERASMUS.
Having become integrated into the EU’s "Lifelong Learning Program" (2007-2013), ERASMUS enters its next phase. The new ERASMUS program promotes:
Study abroad periods (SMS) and
work placements abroad (SMP) for students
Teaching abroad periods for academic staff (STA)
Training periods abroad for university staff at higher education institutions and enterprises (STT)
ERASMUS intensive programs (IP)
