AStA/StuVe (page only in German)

The AStA (Allgemeiner Studierenden Ausschuss) forms the “student government” of a university in Germany, offering support and help as well as representing the interests of all students. How much and in what form the AStA is implemented in a university can differ very much (even the name can be different). Examples of duties of the AStA are active shaping of Universities parking space management and the semestre ticket policies, the organization of events, advisory service for students concerning financial matters and participation in many committees of the University, which decide, for example, on use of tuition fees and or about examination regulations.

Basically, the AStA is always looking for dedicated students. Only with the help of many diverse students, the intrests of all students may be represented well and the big variaty of services can be maintained by the AStA. Are you interested? Please turn directly to your AStA.

Student Representative Bodies (Fachschaften)

All students of a faculty form the Fachschaft. However, the semester Fachschaft is often used for active students, who are engaged in the work of the Fachschaftsbüro (office). The Fachschaft will help students of one faculty with questions about exams and also represent the student’s interests in the faculty. Interested students are always welcome!
