Actuarial Exams (DAV) at the University of Ulm

This additional education is regulated by the German association of actuaries (DAV). The membership of this organization gives you the right to bear the title “Actuary (DAV)” and requires passed exams in all so-called basic subjects:

  • Insurance Mathematics (includes Life-, Health-, Pension- and non-life insurance mathematics)
  • Economic and Legal Environment
  • Applied Stochastics
  • Financial Mathematics and Risk Assessment
  • Modeling and Enterprise Risk Management
  • Corporate Management

For all of these subjects, you can obtain a certificate by passing the corresponding exam at Ulm University.

To become a member of the DAV you also need basic knowledge in measure theory, elementary probability theory and statistics as well as compulsory seminars in communication and professionalism. Additionally, you have to pass four DAV exams about special knowledge.

Furthermore, the basic knowledge in measure theory, elementary probability theory and statistics can be acknowledged (responsible for this is Ms Muranyi) if you have successfully taken part in the lectures "Measure Theory", "Propability Theory and Statistics" and "Stochastics I".
