Dr. Frank Kressing

Frank Kressing was born in Göttingen, Germany. After studying Cultural
Anthropology, Comparative Linguistics and European Ethnology at
Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, he participated in the
preparation of the World Uranium Hearing (Munich, Salzburg 1992) and
worked as an educational advisor for a German youth organization. From
1995-2003, he held a position as research fellow in the Department of
Cultural Anthropology at Ulm University, where he wrote his doctoral
thesis on traditional and western health care systems in highland
Bolivia. His areas of fieldwork covered South America (specifically:
the Bolivian Kallawaya region), South and Central Asia (Ladakh/India),
and the Balkans (Albania). From 2003 onwards, Frank Kressing has been
a lecturer in the Dept. of European Ethnology at Augsburg University
and has joined the Department for the History, Philosophy, and Ethics
of Medicine at Ulm University in 2009.
