Christiane Imhof was born in Wilhelmshaven and studied medicine at Ulm University and the University of Vienna. From 1995 to 1997 she worked as student assistant at the teratology information service of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ulm University. She graduated from Ulm University in 2002 and received her doctorate for a dissertation titled “Antibiotikatherapie in der Schwangerschaft: Teratogene Risiken von Makroliden, Doxycyclin und Cotrimoxazol“ in 2006. From 2008 to 2009 she practiced medicine at the University Hospital of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy in Ulm. Since 2009 she is as assistant professor at the Institute of the History, Philosophy and Ethics of Medicine at Ulm University.
