I graduated in Biology at the University of Tübingen and the Max-Planck-Institute for biological Cybernetics, Germany, and spent five years as a Post-doctoral fellow and Research Associate at the University of Chicago, USA, the University of California at Berkeley, USA, and at the Biocenter of the University of Würzburg, Germany. My research interests cover the Neurobiology of flying animals including various aspects of sensumotor integration, fluid dynamics and muscle function. My lab offers several opportunities for both Biologists and Engineers to work an various aspects of animal locomotion.
