Study at UUlm

Founded in 1967, University of Ulm nowadays ranks first among “Young Universities” in Germany. University of Ulm is an outstanding university in the area of research and science. Today 10,033 students are enrolled at the four faculties: Natural Sciences, Mathematics & Economics, Computer Sciences & Engineering and Medicine. All students receive a profound mentoring during their studies. The campus infrastructure is very well because lecture halls, libraries and canteens are all close together and easily reached within some minutes’ walk. Additionally, close to University of Ulm the so called “Science City” has settled sheltering numerous well-known companies – from automotive to IT. There, students can apply for internship or write project thesis. 

Research on the highest level

Right from the beginning, the University of Ulm asserted its claim as a research university. Thanks to its interdisciplinary and cooperative working methods, the University has been able to establish numerous research concentrations and Collaborative Research Centres both in basic and applied research, achieving successful results. Main areas, among others, are:

  • Life Sciences and Medicine
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • Nanomaterials and Biomaterials
  • Financial Services

Ulm City & Region

The City of Ulm is a friendly and safe place in the South of Germany. It is situated on the Danube River, in between the city Stuttgart and the Bavarian hot spot Munich. 170,000 people live in the city area of Ulm and Neu-Ulm. The region is well-known for its economic strengths and high standard of living. Ulm and the region offer many traditional customs like “Nabada” – a water festival during the summer time - but also museums, galleries, bars and shopping facilities. Last but not least, the regional “Swabian” food is delicious – enough reasons to come and get to know Ulm and the University of Ulm!
