The graduates can work in research institutes, in the research or developmental pharmaceutical and diagnostical industry as well as in science management.

Structure of the Master Course of Studies “Molecular Medicine”
The master course of studies is based on a biomedical course of studies and takes 1,5 academic years.
The first study year (semester 1 and 2) mainly consists of the module “Specific Aspects of Molecular Medicine”. This module contains a lecture series, seminars, and practical training. The lecture series and seminars concentrate on the various aspects of hematology and oncology, regenerative medicine, infectious diseases and immune reactions, neurobiology, and human genetics. The practical training is organized in four research courses à four weeks each, which can be chosen by the students out of forty courses. The first study year includes also a lecture and seminar dealing with clinical trials as well as management (project management, European patent law) and soft skill courses (basics of scientific working and ethics in science; bioethics). The first study year is finalized with a midterm examination.

Master/PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine

High qualified master students have the possibility to enter the PhD Programme "International PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine" after an exam at the end of the first academic year (Master/PhD Programme).
