Selection thresholds depend on applicant numbers and qualifications

Selection procedures

90% of places are allocated by selection grade and 10% by waiting time.

Biochemistry/Biology/Psychology/Economics

The selection is made by overall average grade in the Abitur (general higher education entrance qualification); bonification is possible as follows:

  • 0.3 grade points for relevant, completed vocational training
  • 0.2 grade points for relevant professional experience of at least 2 years
  • 0.1 grade points for special preparatory training/practical experiences/out-of-school attainments or other qualifications.

Applicants receive a maximum of 0.3 bonus grade points. The category special preparatory training/practical experiences/out-of-school attainments or other qualifications can only be counted once with 0.1 grade points.

Molecular Medicine

The selection is made by:

  • overall average grade in the Abitur (general higher education entrance qualification) or,
  • if the test for medical study programmes (TMS) has been completed with results better than the overall average grade in the Abitur, then the overall average grade in the Abitur will be counted with 51% and the TMS with 49%.
