Database

Blood samples shipped to our laboratory are anonymized by a KeyPatientIdentityNumber (KeyPatID) and personal patient data ware kept in a seperate file.

Following ficoll seperation mononuclear cells are depleated by plastic adherence and frozen in liquid nitrogen.

Plasma samples are aliquoted (8x) and frozen at -80°C for multiplexed mediator determinations. Results are filed in an "MS Access"-format.

Whole blood is tested by flow cytometry (FACS).
Individual patients are tested for phagocytic funktion of their granulocytes and LPS responsiveness. Results are also filed in the database. Individual samples are tested for Mutations involved in genetic HLH (on request).
