Enabling Intelligent Mobile Services

This talk introduces NEC's contributions in the area of Intelligent Mobile Services. First we will give a general overview about NEC and the activities and projects at NEC Laboratories Europe. Then we will give an introduction to intelligent services in the context of the NEC's working areas in Service Delivery Platforms, IPTV and intelligent service enablers. A particular focus of the talk will be on our work on context-awareness as key ingredient for making mobile services more intelligent. We will introduce our technology for acquiring and managing context information and present how this technology can be embedded in the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), a SIP-based infrastructure for Next Generation Networks and Services.
