Selected Topics in DataCentre Operation (SoSe 2017)

Learning Goals

Students will deepen their knowledge working with scientific literature as well as oral and written presentations in a particular area of computer science. In discussions, the ability to critical reflection is practiced.

In the technical part of the seminar, current research topics, which are important for the operation of a data center, are in the foreground. This includes the support of special applications such as high performance computing, big data analytics or cloud middleware.

Depending on the subject, students can learn a concrete system, a concept or a technological implementation. They can classify the learned into a larger context and derive their advantages and disadvantages independently.

Content

To give students methodolical guidance, the seminary will start with an introduction to scientific working (literary research, publication writing, presentation techniques).

The creation of the elaboration and presentation will be done in close supervision. The results will be presented in a final presentation.
