Plan-based Decision Support

The project aims to develop methods for plan-based decision support in the context of advanced driver assistance applications. We start out from predefined abstract plans of action (plan models), which represent possible ways of goal-directed acting by using and combining various applications and services. If assistance is required in a certain situation, most suitable alternatives are computed by exploiting current situational information and instantiating appropriate plan models accordingly. The resulting plans of action are passed to the dialogue manager and proposed to the user via the speech dialogue system. This pass initiates an interaction between the user and the planning system, which finally results in a concrete course of action to be pursued, i.e. a plan respecting both the current situation and the user's current needs.
