Olga Pollatos studierte Psychologie und Medizin an der Technischen Universität Berlin und der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Im Jahr 2004 schloss sie ihre Promotion in der Psychologie am Lehrstuhl für Biologische Psychologie der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München im Bereich Emotionen und kortikales Geschehen ab. 2004-2008 war sie an der LMU München sowie der University of Nottingham als Postdoc mit Schwerpunkten in der Biologischen Psychologie und den Neurowissenschaften tätig. 2008 erhielt sie von der LMU München ihre "Venia legendi" für Psychologie. Nach Approbation in der Medizin 2007 erfolgte eine klinische Tätigkeit in der Neurologie der LMU München 2008-2009 und die Promotion zum Dr. med. in der Neuroradiologie. Von 2009-2012 bekleidete sie eine Junior-Professur für Emotions- und Motivationspsychologie an der Universität Potsdam. Seit September 2012 leitet sie die Abteilung für Gesundheitspsychologie an der Universität Ulm.
