Werner Kress endowed chair
The installation of the Werner Kress endowed chair of Strategic Management and Finance enables the establishment of the new department at the University of Ulm. In the centre of interest are teaching and research of the combined knowledge in the fields of Strategic Management and Finance, which is very relevant for the survival of enterprises and investors in the global competition of the present. The comprehension and utilization of this new and close reciprocation is a concern, which the sponsor and Honorary Senator would like to convey to the university and to corroborate by a scientific foundation.

The Institute is involved in organizing the conference "
Advances in Mutual Fund Research" at Humboldt University on August 26-27, 2013.
The paper "The Impact of Public Guarantees on Bank Risk Taking: Evidence from a Natural Experiment" (with R. Gropp and C. Gruendl) has been accepted by the Review of Finance.
Teaching
The course "Theory & Practice of Business Valuation and Strategic Performance Management" will be offered again in fall semester 2013/14 of the Faculty of Mathematics and Economics.
