General Questions
How do I apply?
Application period starts at January 1st and closes on April 30th each year for intake on winter semester of the respective year Admissions Details page.
Do I need to have health insurance?
All students at Institutions of Higher Education in Germany have to provide proof of obligatory health insurance at the time of registration. The University can help you in getting short term health insurance for the first month, including travel to Germany (sometimes required for visa). Information about

How is the academic year organized in Germany?
The academic year is organized into 2 semesters, the Winter Semester and the Summer Semester.
Please note that exams are typically in the non-lecture periods, so don't plan on extended months of vacation.
Lecture periods A German Intensive Course (40 hours), free of charge, will be offered before the start of classes at the beginning of October.
The International Office offers an orientation week for new international students the beginning of October.
