To increase production speed and product quality the improvement of drive motions is a smart way. By reducing / optimizing the maximal acceleration of the motion, the reduction can the used to increase the speed.

Based on the example of a warp knitting machine the way from the problem and the consideration of mechanical and technological restrictions to the mathematical modelling is presented.

Advantages of the usage of Fourier series and the developed algorithm to calculate the optimized motion will be discussed.
