About the workshop

Following the successful QuEBS (Quantum Effects in Biological Systems) workshops in Lisbon 2009 and Harvard 2010, the next QuEBS-2011 will take place in Ulm, Germany from August 1 -5, 2011. The meeting will cover recent developments of this emerging field and aims to foster discussions between participants to help the formation of a community in this field.

To facilitate this process we are planning to start the meeting with a series of 90 minutes tutorial lectures by world leading experts to introduce the audience which hails from a variety of backgrounds to important concepts and methods. We plan to include a number of contributed talks and a poster session to encourage participation by young scientists.

Thanks to the generous support of the Heraeus foundation around 40 conference grants covering accommodation (5 nights, room only) are available for participants whose poster or oral presentations have been accepted
