Research and Teaching

Here you can find information about ZAWIW's conceptual design of "learning by researching" and the different groups existing within the institute.

Research by Guided Practice

ZAWiW's scientific work is made up as "Research by Guided Practice", i.e. educational concepts for adults - especially for seniors - are developed by means of empirically founded analyses. This should achieve improvements in the contents of education and in didactic methods, which are again undergoing the same process. Contents and methods refer to the individuals, i.e. they correspond to wishes and intentions of those who are interested in studying as adults, involving participants into the process of research and development.
Scientists can achieve widely diversified access to their research object by giving lessons themselves, monitoring working groups in practice, discussions, gaining empirical data and participating in working groups.
