8-10th of July 2012 - A European conference within the 8th International Danube Festival in Ulm/Neu- Ulm and the European Year of Active Ageing
At a time of rapid changes in science, economy, technology and society, the challenges of the future will be met by old and young together. Ageing societies such as those in the Danube Region cannot permit the enormous potential of older generations to remain unused. For this reason, society must safeguard their skills and productivity. On the other hand, given the speed with which knowledge is outdated, a readiness to engage in lifelong learning is also demanded from older citizens.
The conference is aimed at professionals in adult education, particularly seniors’ education, and those in intergenerational work; at representatives of community and civil society establishments and at senior citizens engaged in dissemination work.
The European Conference web4seniors has been the 5th conference of the European Network Learning in Later Life. The subject concentrated on important current issue - the recent developments in the information and communication technologies and their consequences on the education of older people in Europe, the opportunities and challenges this presents.
The conference was addressed to those who already use the new media in their programs as well as those who plan to enter this exciting area for the fist time.
