Students of Ulm University, Ulm University of Applied Sciences and Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences are covered by accident insurance within the framework of University Sports, provided they have duly registered and paid the participation fee, as they are when attending courses (or precisely indicate: lecture tutorial etc.). Accidents must be reported immediately to the University Sports Office(3-day notification period). In the event of an accident, a D-Arzt must be consulted.

University employees are not insured through the Württembergischer Gemeindeunfallversicherungsverband (Württemberg Municipal Accident Insurance Association), except for health sports programmes. Accidents in other programmes must be covered by your own accident insurance/health insurance.

Guests and students of other universities are generally not insured when participating in University Sports and are therefore legally accountable for their own insurance coverage.

Free play groups without an exercise leader are not insured.

Participants are legally accountable for their own insurance coverage for courses offered by other organisers that are only arranged by University Sports. It is therefore advisable to take out accident, health and, if necessary, luggage insurance and travel cancellation insurance.

It is recommended that all University Sports participants take out private liability insurance to obtain insurance coverage in the event that personal injury or property damage is caused to third parties while practising sports.
