Ulm successful at the Baroque Tournament - Handball
Last weekend, two teams from Ulm University took part in the Baroque Tournament - with great commitment, sporting passion and lots of good humour. In midsummer temperatures, the teams sweated profusely on both days, but the effort was worth it.
One of the Ulm teams put in a reinforce performance in the preliminary round, but was narrowly eliminated - despite a committed performance. The second team from Ulm fought their way through to the final, where they lost by just one goal to the team from Rosenheim. Even if the defeat seemed somewhat unnecessary, reaching the final was a great success and cause for celebration.
A total of ten teams took part in the tournament. As only places 1 to 4 were played, the exact ranking of the other teams remains open - but the sporting effort and positive experiences were clearly in the foreground.
University Sports Ulm at the DHM Table Tennis 2025: 3rd place for Petra Vögele

Kadu Kaidy: German university boxing champion and Bundesliga fighter for SSV Ulm 1846
At the beginning of November 2024, Kadu Kaidy achieved another major milestone in his sporting career in Kassel: the title of German university boxing champion. As a boxer for SSV Ulm 1846 and an active Bundesliga fighter, he prevailed in a challenging field of competitors and secured the gold medal. Kadu's success is the result of hard work and years of experience at the highest level, and it is his great passion for the sport that makes him one of the outstanding athletes in his class.
Already a two-time Baden-Württemberg champion and fighter, Kadu has shown that he can impress at regional and international level, where his victories include a win over the U22 Asian champion from Kazakhstan in September. In Kassel, he proved his strength and technique in three reinforce fights. Each victory was based on a combination of speed, precision and an unwavering will to win - qualities that make him an impressive athlete in the Bundesliga.
His daily training at SSV Ulm 1846 as well as his targeted strength and endurance training have enabled him to prepare himself physically and mentally in the best possible way. With a clear focus on core strength and explosive power, Kadu plans to further improve his service performances and compete at an even higher level. The recent title of German university champion is therefore not the goal for him, but an incentive to keep improving.
Kadu's dedication and discipline make him a role model for other young athletes and his followers at SSV Ulm 1846. His success in Kassel is another chapter in the story of an athlete who lives boxing with passion and is always ready to give everything for his dreams and goals.
