The service includes the preparation and implementation of video conferences (VK) as well as advice on the subject of video conferences via the Internet.

Note: The rental of accessories for video conferences at the workplace or in your own meeting room (microphones, loudspeakers) is part of the equipment rental (multimedia) service.

Service description

  • Preparation and implementation of video conferences (VK) via Internet in the central studio of the kiz in professional quality and according to a manufacturer-independent international standard. Depending on the equipment of the opposite side, the screen display of a notebook can be transmitted in addition to image and sound to include presentations or other discussion documents. Conferences with several locations at the same time are also possible. Thus, for example, meetings with spatially distributed project partners can be realized.
  • Particularly noteworthy is the high security standard which, in contrast to other manufacturer-specific offers, is guaranteed by the fact that the transmitted data is not transmitted via a central server. For multipoint conferences, the DFN's secure VK server is used.
  • A video conference studio is operated for the service, which can be booked on an hourly basis.
  • In addition, advice on videoconferencing is provided via the Internet at one's own workplace or in one's own meeting room, as well as on teleseminars: Use of the external service DFNconf with the kiz basic account and with laptop and web browser. Depending on the size of the local participant group, different audio and video accessories may be required to achieve high technical quality, e.g. with good speech intelligibility and without interruptions.

User groups

The service can be used by members of the university as well as by external parties depending on the available capacities.

Members or institutions of the university have priority in all cases when using the VC room and when using personal consulting and support services.

Application conditions

This service can be used without request. Booking of the VC room and using support services for its implementation, require that you fill out an order form, which is available on the kiz website.

Charge / Fees

Members or institutions of the University will be charged for any reimbursement of expenses incurred. The personal consulting and support services as well as pure Internet connections are free of charge.

External companies are generally charged fees for working hours, the leasing of assets and reimbursement of expenses according to the regulations on fees and charges.
