Acquiring or licensing literature and fact databases for the Ulm University on behalf of its faculties or by decision-makers of the kiz. The DBIS database information system organises and ensures online access to these media via the providers' platforms.

  • Ensuring access to licensed media from outside the campus network via VPN

  • Improve the functionality of the local integrated library system for this portfolio of products

User groups

The service is available to members and institutions of Ulm University. Access to literature and fact databases is limited to members of Ulm University or to all persons who are entitled to receive a kiz account. Information and consulting services are also provided for other user groups (other libraries, hospitals, schools, etc.).

Application details

Institutions and members of Ulm University can use all relevant features without a separate application. To access databases from outside the campus network, a VPN connection must be established. This requires a kiz account, which members of the university receive upon application (employees) or automatically upon enrolment (students).
