Service Category: Library Use

Purchase or license of digital books (e-books, o-books) for Ulm University. They are selected by representatives of the faculties or by decision-makers of the kiz. The online access to these media is organised and ensured via the platforms of the providers.

User groups

The service is available to members and institutions of Ulm University. Full-text access to e-books is limited to members of Ulm University or to all persons who are entitled to receive a kiz account. Information and consulting services are also provided for other user groups (other libraries, hospitals, schools, etc.)

Application details

Institutions and members of Ulm University can use the relevant features without a seperate application. To access the full texts of e-books from outside the campus network, a VPN connection must be established. This requires a kiz account, which members of the university receive upon application (employees) or automatically upon enrolment (students).

Charge / Fee

No charges will be made for the Service.


The use of download tools, in particular their conversion to make them look like browsers, is always an abuse and will be prosecuted accordingly.
