Printer instructions for students

Accounting of printing costs

For printouts on printers of the kiz (e.g. in the computer labs) students have a free quota of currently 15 Euro per year for the period 01.01. to 31.12. An unused free quota cannot be transferred to the following year. The free quota is financed from the student proposal budget of the quality assurance funds.

The print quota can be increased at the self-service terminals at any time using the electronic exchange on the chip card or just displayed. To increase the print quota, a corresponding amount of funds must be available on the card (see chip card). The purchased print quota is credited to the kiz account as purchased printer points and is immediately available for printouts. In general, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail within a few minutes that your printer points have been recharged.

The privately paid print quota can also be transferred to the following calender year. The credit on the printer account is in no case transferable to other persons.

For complaints about charged print jobs please contact Service Point Print.

Migration of the printing system to the new 'kiz print services'

Please note that for printing, all kiz PC Pools are currently being migrated from the old to the new 'kiz print services' system. At the moment you can use both the old and the new system.

Please note: Purchased printer dots are available in the old and new system. If you are using the old and new systems in parallel, the display of the score may be delayed. An adjustment takes place approx. every 8 hours.

The new system is addressed with only one queue 'FollowMe':  You can find the initial page for notes and for the individual display of quotas, jobs or for cancelling orders under --> print.uni-ulm.de.

After submitting print jobs to the 'FollowMe' queue, you can start printing your job with your Chipcard by holding it at any Release Station connected to a printer.

Here you can see which pool has already been converted.
