Zielgruppe: Dieser Workshop richtet sich an Doktoranden aller Fachrichtungen, die bereits wissenschaftliche Schreiberfahrung gesammelt und idealerweise Fachartikel eingereicht oder publiziert haben. 

Im Workshop werden folgende Themen behandelt:

• Was muss ich zum Urheberrecht wissen?
• Wie ist eine kumulative Dissertation aufgebaut?
• Was muss ich bei der Nachnutzung eigener Artikel in der Dissertation beachten?
• Welche Fristen muss ich berücksichtigen, wenn ich Fachartikel in meiner Dissertation verwenden möchte?
• Was muss ich bei der Nutzung von (veröffentlichten und nicht veröffentlichten) Fragebögen beachten?
• Wie kann ich Rechte einholen?
• Wie läuft der Publikationsprozess der Dissertation ab?

Der Workshop geht intensiv auf urheberrechtliche Fragestellungen und die Nutzung eigener Artikel ein.

Für diese Veranstaltung erhalten Sie den laut der aktuellen Promotionsordnung für Dr. biol. hum. erforderlichen Nachweis  über die Teilnahme an einem Seminar zur Thematik „Urheberrecht“. Um die Voraussetzung für die "Qualitätssicherungsmaßnahmen" der med. Fakultät für die Promotion zum Dr. med. / Dr. med. dent. zu erfüllen, müssen der Selbstlern-Kurs "Fit für die Diss MED" und der Online-Live-Kurs "Urheberrecht für Publikationen" absolviert werden.

Organisatorisches:

Dieser Workshop wird als Online-Kurs live via Zoom angeboten. Er wird einmal pro Monat auf Deutsch und zweimal pro Semester auf Englisch angeboten.

Target group: doctoral candidates / PhD students who have already published articles and want to reuse them within their thesis.

Contents of the workshop:

Publishing scientific articles is an important step in a scientific career. Many doctoral candidates already publish articles before their dissertation is finished, some as contributing, some as first authors. In some cases, successfully publishing one or more scientific articles is an obligation in order to be accepted for a PhD. This workshop adresses doctoral candidates who aim to publish their results in peer reviewed scientific journals and reuse their results, tables and figures, but also their complete articles within their doctoral thesis.

We will have a close look on copyright transfer agreements, on the different possibilities to publish papers, and at which point of time copyrights are transferred to the publishing houses. We look in detail at the different scenarios and how you can reclaim your right to reuse your content for your thesis. Furthermore, although there often is no choice, we will try to raise your awareness to have a close look at the journal's conditions before submitting a paper. This will help to guide you easily through the writing and publishing process of your thesis.

For this course you will receive the proof of participation in a seminar on the topic of "Copyright", which is required according to the current doctoral regulations for the Dr. biol. hum. degree. In order to fulfil the requirement for "quality assurance" ("Qualitätssicherungsmaßnahmen") of the Faculty of Medicine for Dr med. and Dr. med. dent. candidates, this course and the course "Good Scientific Practice" (organised by ProTrainU) must be completed.
