Remembering in Ulm: Activities alongside the exhibition

In the double exhibition "Erinnern in Ulm" (Remembering in Ulm), 70 years after the liberation from National Socialism, the democratic restart of the National Socialism after the end of war will be illuminated at the "Haus der Stadtgeschichte" and also the dispute of National Socialism in the "KZ-Gedenkstätte" (concentration camp memorial place) will be demonstrated at Oberer Kuhberg.

Therefore there will be a varied accompanying program in which the ZAWiW is involved. Following activities will be performed:

Hatchery of ideas

With the slogan "Daring more democracy" the young and the old are supposed to interchange and collect ideas for new forms of participation at a workshop on the future of our democracy. In the form of election posters these ideas shall be documented and designed artistic. These posters are supposed to be an enrichment for the exhibition in the "Haus der Stadtgeschichte" (house of history of the city). The project will be realised in cooperation with the "Hans-und Sophie-Scholl-Gymnasium".

ErzählCafé with personal items of family history

In the "ErzählCafés" the contemporary witnesses of all generations are able to interchange in issues of items of family history and can talk about their experiences and memories in exposure to National Socialism. Precondition for participation is your own contribution with such a personal item. For example items like letters, photos, emblems or other utensils of workaday life. These objects shall be documented as an original in the "Shelf of Memories" or as a photo.
