Jun.-Prof. Dr. Felix Lindner✝

After a long and serious illness, our valued colleague Jun. Prof. Felix Lindner passed away on April 23, 2023. Our thoughts are with him and all who were close to him. We will miss him very much at the institute.

  • since 10/2019: Juniorprofessor for explainable artificial intelligence, Ulm University
  • 10/2015 – 09/2019: Lecturer, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg
  • 10/2009 – 09/2015: Research Associate, Knowledge and Language Processing, University of Hamburg

Research Interests

  • Explainability of AI Systems
    • Conceptualizations of Explanation, Reason, and Causality for making sure artificial agents (esp. robots) are making the right decisions for the right reasons
    • Explanations as input and output, using explanations for interactive learning and transparent AI
  • Machine Ethics
  • Human-Robot Interaction
    • Social Robot Navigation
    • Explainability in Human-Robot Interaction
    • Ethical discussions with the robotic head Immanuel
