Module Contents

Building on the lectures "Power Engineering 1" und "Electric Drives", this event focuses first on the generalized locus curves of assynchronous and synchronous machines. The largest part is, however, the presentation of the dynamic behaviour of asynchronous and synchronous machines by means of the space vector method in different coordinate systems. The following topics are mainly worked on:

  • Rotating field theory: voltage induction and torque formation
  • Asynchronous machine: static (Heylandkreis)
  • Synchronmaschine: static / generator theory
  • Three-phase transformer: dynamic processes (Rush-currents etc.)
  • General machine models: two axix theorie / space vector
  • Asynchronous machine: dynamic
  • Synchronous machine: dynamic

Also, the principles known from the lectures "Introduction in the Power Engineering" (Prof. Kabza) and "Electrical Drives" (Prof. Xie) shall be deepened, extended and complemented by a detailled presentation of the machine dynamics. This dynamic machine description formes the basis for modern drive systems based on rotating field machines.  

Lab

In parallel to the lectures the lab "Investigation of control methods for converter-fed asynchronous machines" is running by means of computer simulation.
