Martin Theobald held lecture at international Summer School in Finland

In the period from 10 to 14 August 2015, Opens internal link in current windowMartin Theobald held a lecture on “Information Extraction and Automatic Knowledge Base Construction” at the Opens external link in new window25th International Summer School of Jyväskylä (Finland). With 39 participants, the course was one of the best-attended courses at this very traditional summer school, which attracts doctoral students, post-docs and master students from all over the world each year.

During this one-week course, students could gain an insight on the principles of both probabilistic and pattern-based information-extraction techniques from text sources and also practice their newly gained knowledge with practical programming tasks. The Jyväskylä Summer School turned into its 25th anniversary this year and offers a very diverse program of more than 30 courses from various technical and engineering-oriented disciplines ever since it started in 1990. A continuation of the course for 2016 is intended.
